February 1 (BTA special correspondent Boris Hamalski) -
The Bulgarian state is redefining its priorities and vision with
regard to aid and exchange with Bulgarians living abroad, said
President Rumen Radev at a meeting with representatives of the
Bulgarian community in Portugal. The meeting took place at the
Bulgarian Embassy on Thursday. Radev added that aid should not
be limited to Bulgarian churches and cultural and education
organizations but should extend to training, social and pension
rights and accessible transport links.

Radev said that Portuguese leaders were impressed with the
Bulgarian community with the way they are representing Bulgaria
and their achievements in various areas. "This is an
exceptionally good testament for Bulgaria", added Radev.

The President said that the achievements of the Bulgarian
community in the field of culture, education, engineering and
high technology give confidence to the Portuguese leaders and
local businesses to invest in Bulgaria. RY/PP
