Agriculture Minister Asks Counter-Corruption Commission
to Publish All Information from his
Financial Interests Disclosure Declaration

May 11 (BTA) - Bulgarian Agriculture, Food and Forestry Minister Roumen Porozhanov Friday requested the
Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission (CCUAAFC) to publish on its website the full information contained in his financial interests disclosure
declaration for 2017, Porozhanov's Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.

The CCUAAFC said on Friday that a check had found discrepancies between the financial interests declared by Porozhanov and the actual situation. According to the Commission, it has not made
public information about assets owned by Porozhanov's de facto cohabitant at his express request, which is possible under the law.

Friday's press release said that the Minister blames the problem on a technical error and denies that he was unwilling to disclosure information about his cohabitant. On March 13, 2019, the Commission notified him by a letter of the only non-conformity it had detected: a failure to fill in the amount of income from his salaried position in 2019. The required information was submitted within 14 days, the Ministry said.

On Friday, the "Sega" daily alleged that Porozhanov's wife does not figure in the version of his financial interests disclosure declaration posted on the CCUAAFC's website even though she was entered in the hard-copy version filed. The newspaper argued that the lady was involved in real estate transactions, which her husband was obliged to declare. IG/LG
