The assets managed by resident and non-resident investment funds operating in Bulgaria totalled BGN 11.7938 billion at the end of December 2024, increasing by 20.9%, or BGN 2.0407 billion, year-on-year, the Bulgarian National Bank said.
These assets amounted to 5.9% of Bulgaria’s GDP at the end of December 2024, compared to 5.3% in December 2023.
At the end of December 2024, the assets of resident investment funds amounted to BGN 3.7138 billion, up by BGN 569 million (18.1%) compared to the same month of 2023.
Equity fund assets increased by BGN 397.1 million, or 20.9%, year-on-year to reach BGN 2.2928 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024. Mixed funds and other funds’ assets grew by BGN 109.7 million, or 25.9%, to BGN 533.8 million compared to BGN 424.1 million as of the end of December 2023. Bond funds' assets grew by BGN 62.1 million, or 7.5%, to BGN 887.3 million year-on-year.
Equity funds held 61.7% of the assets of resident investment funds, against 60.3% reported in December 2023. Bond funds held 23.9% at the end of December 2024, against 26.2% in December 2023.
