The president of the Senate (Romania's second-highest state post), Ilie Bolojan, will be Romania's acting president after Klaus Iohannis resigned from the post on Monday, local media report, citing Article 98 of the Romanian constitution.
Ilie Bolojan was born on March 17, 1969 in the village of Birtin, Bihor County. After graduating from the High School of Mathematics and Physics in Oradea, he studied Mechanics (1988-1993) and Mathematics (1990-1993) at the University of Timisoara. The current President of the Senate is divorced. His ex-wife is a consultant for an insurance company and a psychologist at the Maternity Home in Oradea. They have two daughters from their marriage.
