site.btaCaretaker Deputy Foreign Minister Kondov Takes Part in Meeting of B-9 Countries' Foreign Ministers

Caretaker Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov took part in a working dinner of the foreign ministers of the B-9 countries in Brussels on Sunday. The Bucharest Nine (B-9) is a multilateral format for consultations on security issues of the NATO Eastern Flank countries.

The participants discussed progress on strengthening the frontline defence of the Eastern flank and the current situation in Ukraine as part of preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Washington in July this year. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine in response to Russian military aggression and the need for allied unity and solidarity to strengthen it. They highlighted the importance of strengthening deterrence and defence capabilities on the Eastern flank in response to the long-term threat from Russia.
