site.btaBulgaria to Sign Updated Draft Agreement on Security Cooperation with Ukraine
The Council of Ministers adopted a decision approving the signing of an updated draft Agreement on Security Cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and Ukraine, approved as a basis for negotiations by a decision of the Council of Ministers of 4 October 2024.
Pursuant to the decision of 4 October 2024, the text was negotiated between the Bulgarian and Ukrainian sides during expert consultations, proposing minimal updates without imposing significant changes to the text initially approved by the Council of Ministers.
The agreement represents a political commitment to continued support for Ukraine. Bulgaria will also join the Ukraine Compact endorsed at the NATO Summit in Washington in July this year.
The Republic of Bulgaria provides political and practical support to Ukraine, which, by opposing Russian aggression, also contributes directly to the protection of the freedom, security and sovereignty of all European Member States. Bulgaria actively participates in international efforts to assist Ukraine.
