Turkiye's newly appointed Ambassador to Bulgaria, Mehmet Sait Uyanik, hosted an official dinner at Sofia's Ramada hotel on Tuesday. The event coincided with the start of Turkish Cuisine Week, organized in the diplomat's home country under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan.
Approached by BTA, Culture Minister Nayden Todorov said that culture connects nations. "I have always maintained that culture, not just the arts but culture, is our way of communicating with one another," Todorov said.
He noted that he and the Ambassador concurred in a conversation that culture brings nations together, and it is what leads us forward. The two discussed the possibility for more artists and orchestras from Bulgaria and Turkiye to conduct cultural exchange.
"Together, we can build a very strong Balkan region through culture," Todorov said.
Turkish food from the Aegean region, prepared by Turkish cooks, was served during the dinner.
