The Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved the participation of Bulgaria in Green Recovery Vision for Ukraine, a programme of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) intended to restore the livelihoods of war-affected people, support sectors and businesses that were damaged or relocated as a result of the war and strengthen the long-term sustainability and resilience of Ukraine's industry.

Bulgaria will get involved in a project in the area of work Economic Empowerment of Youth, Women and Internally Displaced Persons through Entrepreneurship. The project envisages support to two training institutions and direct support to 50 persons in the target group willing to pursue entrepreneurship and build knowledge and skills for starting their own business. The project targets the creation of at least 150 full-time jobs.

The Programme will start in 2024, and UNIDO aspires to raise at least EUR 200 million for its implementation. Bulgaria will make a voluntary financial contribution of EUR 100,000. The funding will be provided on the Foreign Ministry budget.
