A large-scale march in support of the Palestinian people marked World Human Rights Day, December 10, in Istanbul on Sunday. Many representatives of Turkish NGOs joined the event, which the DHA agency says was attended by several hundred people.
The march started from Beyazit Square and reached Hagia Sophia. The participants changed, "Jerusalem is ours and will remain ours", "Greetings to Hamas, continue the resistance", and "Israel murderer, go away from Palestine".
The demonstration was organized by the nongovernmental organization IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.
Addressing the march, the NGO's head Bulent Yildirim called on the Turkish President to take action against Israel. On behalf of the Muslim communities, he called on the government to break the trade relations with Israel, close the air space, annul all agreements concluded in the Eastern Mediterranean and, if necessary, to send military flotillas in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea together with other Islamic countries. "We need the State's support," he said.
