An Intensive Preparation stage was launched at Joint Special Operations Command on Monday, the Bulgarian Defence Ministry reported Tuesday. This stage marks the start of the Preliminary Military Preparation module for service members appointed as operators at Special Forces formations.

The intensive preparation is conducted at the Tsruncha Specialized Training Complex and the adjacent forested mountainous areas under the leadership and control of instructors from the Joint Special Operations Command's training centre for preparation and combat support. The aim is to select candidates for the Command's combat formations based on their performance in physical and mental challenges. The first challenge is a 12 km foot march at night with various obstacles.
