Spanish saxophone player Arnau Garofe is making his debut as a band leader with his project Frantik Zen. The eponymous album will be presented live in a concert at Sofia Live Club on November 23, the organizers said on Friday.

The album is a blend of styles and interweaves multiple sources of inspiration. The compositions combine a strong groovy foundation and complex, expressive melodies influenced by the virtuosity of contemporary saxophonists.

Frantik Zen attempts to unite two opposing ideas into a single concept - frantic (Frantik), which is a state of complete restlessness in which fear takes over, and Zen (Zen), a state of absolute inner peace and conscious control over emotions, a balance between mind and body. Finding the balance between mind and heart is a lifelong journey and the music of Frantik Zen is part of that journey, says the musician.

The band Frantik Zen brings together guitarist Alexander Logozarov, multi-instrumentalist Vassil Voutev and bassist Radoslav Slavchev - Riverman, along with Steve Hamilton on keys.
