Speaking to reporters in the corridors of Parliament, There Is Such a People (TISP) Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov said that a stable government could be formed if there is a [governance] programme with a broad majority behind it.

Commenting on GERB leader Boyko Borissov's statement that GERB's "natural partners" are Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and TISP, Yordanov stressed that now is not the time for such preliminary conclusions. "I understand that Mr Borissov is trying to make sure that he will govern, but the elections have to take place [first]. The most important thing is what the programme will be and who will implement it," he said.

Yordanov denied having exerted pressure on Kamelia Neykova, Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC). In his words, the CEC respects the law.

Boyko Borissov was one of the people who threw the referendum in the bin, Yordanov said, commenting on another statement by Borissov who Tuesday advocated for the introduction of a proportional-majoritarian electoral system in Bulgaria. In 2016, a national referendum was held in Bulgaria and asked: "Do you support MPs to be elected by a majority electoral system with an absolute majority in two rounds?"

"The dramas in the MRF do not interest me," Yordanov said. "Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria have made [MRF Floor Leader Delyan] Peevski a [serious] player. It is deplorable that the same ones are currently complaining of Peevski", he added.

Asked to comment on the bill on foreign agents that was submitted to the National Assembly by the far-right, Euro-sceptic Vazrazhdane party, Yordanov said that this is a pre-election move and the bill will not pass in Parliament.
