Bulgaria's highest ranked tennis player will give an open lesson to children in Sofia on September 17, hours before his charity match against Olympic gold medalist and record 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, which is organized by Grigor Dimitrov Foundation.
In addition to valuable tips for improving the technique of young tennis players, the children will learn how important health care, discipline and perseverance are for their successful development in sport and professional life. The event is organized in partnership with one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Bulgaria, MSD, as the theme of the lesson will be "Game, Set, Match for Health!" and will bring together children from different sports schools in the capital.
In 2020, Grigor Dimitrov created his eponymous charity foundation to encourage the development of children and to help them build the skills for physical, emotional and mental resilience, the desire to win on their way to success.
"It takes discipline and strong motivation to succeed. Game. Set. Match for Health! Success is perseverance! See you in Sofia!" said Dimitrov before his meeting with the children.
Preventive healthcare among adolescents is a key theme for the pharmaceutical company, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary on the Bulgarian market with a series of initiatives, including a partnership with the Grigor Dimitrov Foundation for the exhibition charity match. The company shares the cause of the event - to support children and young Bulgarians on their way to achieving their goals and dreams, to instill resilience and fortitude, to gain confidence and to win.
"As a global leader, it is our responsibility, in addition to developing innovative medicines and vaccines for a range of diseases, to prevent ill health for all patients, including children. We are delighted to have found a true supporter of our mission in Grigor Dimitrov," said Milena Organdzhieva, Managing Director of MSD Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania.
