English violinist Charlie Siem will give a concert at the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on October 30, the organizers of the event said. Siem will perform works by Max Bruch, Camille Saint-Saëns, Niccolo Paganini, Fritz Kreisler and John Williams under the batton of Minko Lambov. The programme will also premiere music by Siem himself - Canopy, as well as music by Petar Dunov.
Before the concert, the violinist will have a masterclass with young Bulgarian music talents.
Siem was born in London, in the family of a wealthy and influential Norwegian businessman. He began playing the violin at the age of three. He studied at Eton College, studied music at Cambridge and specialized at the Royal College of Music in London under the tutelage of Itzhak Raszkowski. World-renowned violinist Shlomo Mintz has been Siem’s mentor since 2004.
