Parliament on Wednesday refused to dismiss Sevdzhan Sadkaev as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Public Enterprises and Control Agency. 108 MPs voted in favour of his resignation, 55 were against, and 62 abstained.

The item was additionally included on the agenda. National Assembly Deputy Chair Yordan Tsonev, chairing the sitting, said that a request had been received from Sadkaev to be relieved of his post.

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov urged the MPs who are not part of the MRF not to legitimize as indifferent observers of a mafia settlement of accounts what MRF currently wants. He urged everyone to vote against Sadkaev’s release.

"I don't understand why we are turning a blind eye to what is happening right now in the country before our eyes. One parliamentary group – MRF – is currently conducting a purge in the state, Peevski is purging Dogan's people," Kostadinov said.

Deputy Parliament Chair Tsonev tried to interrupt Kostadinov several times him because he was not speaking on the point, and made a remark about using derogatory words such as "mafia organization."
