site.btaNearly 37 Million Foreigners Visit Turkiye in First Eight Months of 2023

Nearly 37 million tourists have visited Turkiye in the first eight months of this year. Between January and August, 36,754,146 foreigners arrived in the country, up 13.95 percent compared to the same period in 2022, according to data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Most tourists in the period under review came from Russia - 4.35 million, an increase of 44.84 percent compared to the same period last year. Germany came second with 4.08 million tourists and a 6.03 percent increase, while Britain was third with 2.65 million and a 12.36 percent increase.

 The top three is followed by Bulgaria, which ranks fourth, and Iran in fifth place.

In August of this year alone, 6.66 million foreign tourists visited Turkey, up 5.65 percent compared to the same month in 2022. 

The top five foreign tourists in August was Germany, followed by Russian Federation, Britain, Iran and Poland.
