site.btaSport Minister, Cuban Ambassador Discuss Cooperation in Youth and Sport Policies

Bulgarian Youth and Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the field of sports and youth policies with Cuban Ambassador Marieta Garcia Jordan. The highlight of the discussions was a bilateral agreement which provides for the exchange of coaches and experts in the sports sector.

Iliev highlighted the opportunities for training and competitions in sports facilities in Bulgaria. The diplomat pointed out that Cuba’s national wrestling team is currently preparing for the Belgrade World Championships in the town of Teteven in central Bulgaria, and expressed a desire to deepen cooperation in this area.

Iliev stressed that his Ministry also focuses on the development of science in sport. Ambassador Marieta Garcia Jordan noted that the experience gained from the activities of the Cuban Institute of Sports Medicine could be shared in this regard.
