The Chaira Pumped Storage Power Plant will not be working anytime soon because of "considerable damage" to the equipment and the time required for repairs, caretaker Energy Minister Rossen Hristov told journalists at the plant on Friday. He was at the site Friday to discuss with the National Electricity Company (NEC) management the state of the facility and the future steps for putting it back into operation.
