Sofia, July 25 (BTA) - In three separate rulings on July 23, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) found that thethree energy distributors, EVN, Energo-Pro and CEZ, have abused their dominant market position. The Commission launched the proceedings on its own and later received a complaint by an independent energy supplier.

The Commission found that each distributor employed a common approach among its subsidiary companies to exchange information about industrial customers and prevent them from changing suppliers and going on the free energy market.

The Commission said that the violation may affect trade between EU member states as under Article 102 of the EU Treaty.

The energy distributors have 60 days to file their objections.
