Structural Rehab of Buildings Now Eligible
Expense under New Energy-saving
Programme 2014-2020


Sofia, September 15 (BTA) - Structural rehabilitation of
buildings will be included in the eligible costs under the
energy-saving programme for the new programming period of
2014-2020, the Ministry of Regional Development said Monday.
Until now buildings with structural faults could not be
rehabilitated under this programme and were rejected directly.
This will enable more owners to have access to the programme's
resources.
   
Deputy Regional Development Minister Angel Petrov had a working
meeting related to the drafting of framework agreements with
commercial banks interested in extending loans under the
programme for energy rehabilitation of Bulgarian homes. Petrov
underscored the importance of the partnership between his
ministry and the banks for both the ongoing and the future
programming period when Bulgaria will have much more funds for
this particular step and the interest of both the public and the
 institutions in credits for that purpose will increase.
   
Financial resources to the amount of 174.85 million euro have
been planned for energy rehabilitation of condominiums and
student hostels under the Operational Programme Regions in
Growth for the next programming period.  A total of 414
applications of interest have been submitted to date, 390 have
been approved and 52 contracts for construction works have been
