Vidin, on the Danube, December 14 (BTA) - As of Sunday, a
passenger train connects Sofia, Vidin and Budapest through
Danube Bridge 2 (between Vidin in Bulgaria and Calafat in
Romania), Vidin's regional administration said. The new
international railway line has been included in the train
schedule that Holding Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) introduces
as of Sunday.

With the entry into force of the new schedule, two international
passenger trains will be launched between Sofia and Budapest,
which will travel through Romania over Danube Bridge 2, the BDZ
said in a press release.

The international train leaves Sofia at 11:55 am and arrives in
Vidin at 16:37, from where it departs for Budapest at 17:30. The
train arrives in the Hungarian capital at 08:15 am on the next
day. The train from Budapest to Sofia leaves at 19:10 and
arrives in Vidin at 11:25 am and in Sofia at 17:00.

The international trains' composition will include one sitting,
one sleeper and one couchette coach. Additional coaches will be
added on Bulgarian territory for those travelling between Sofia
and Vidin, the BDZ specified.

The first international train through Danube Bridge 2 was
launched on May 10, 2015 to connect Vidin and Craiova.
