MRF - New Beginning Deputy Floor Leader Iskra Mihaylova said that in addition to requirements, people who work in public media should also receive motivation. During a meeting of the parliamentary committee on culture and media on Thursday, she supported the idea to pay special attention to public media and to increase the salaries of journalists working in them.

Mihaylova noted that the first item of the mission of the Culture Ministry was the protection, preservation and presentation of cultural heritage, and she asked Culture Minister Marian Bachev whether this item had found a worthy place in the 2025 budget.

"We have planned a budget programme with funds for targeted financial support for field archaeological research and for conservation and restoration of movable cultural property, funds needed to secure commitments made under contracts already concluded, as well as for a new programme to finance conservation, restoration and socialization activities," Bachev responded. The Culture Minister said that funds have also been earmarked for the relocation of the archives of the National Institute for Immovable Cultural Heritage.
