Veteran Journalist Peter Kozhouharov Dies

Sofia, May 16 (BTA) - Veteran journalist and writer Peter
Kozhouharov died on May 14, his family said.

Born in 1929, Kozhouharov headed the International News Desk at
the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) after February 1, 1966. He
served as BTA correspondent in Berlin and West Berlin.

Kozhouharov also worked with Bulgarian National Television (BNT)
for many years. He was known as the only journalist who could
interview Communist leader Todor Zhivkov. He was BNT
correspondent in Berlin. He also served as Deputy Chairman of
the Committee on Radio and Television.

Kozhouharov wrote the books "On the Scene: Encounters with
Distinguished Figures of the 20th Century" and "The Cold War:
Snapshots by an Eyewitness."
