site.btaPresident Decrees Caretaker Government Appointment, Schedules Elections for October 27

President Rumen Radev has decreed the appointment of the caretaker government and has scheduled general elections on October 27, the head of state's press secretariat said. 

On Tuesday Radev signed a decree appointing a caretaker government in the composition proposed by the Prime Minister-designate Dimitar Glavchev.

By another decree, the President scheduled early parliamentary elections for 27 October 2024.

Head of State Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Iotova will attend the oath taking ceremony of the caretaker government, which will take place on Tuesday at the National Assembly.

This is the second attempt to appoint a caretaker cabinet, after last week Radev refused to the decree the appointment of the caretaker government proposed by Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva over Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov.
