Former MRF Leader Mestan and Five MPs Submit Statements for Leaving Party's Parliamentary Group

Sofia, January 11 (BTA) - The former leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Lyutvi Mestan, and five other MRF MPs have submitted statements to Parliament on Monday for leaving MRF's parliamentary group, the National Assembly Administration told BTA.

The other five MPs who are leaving the MRF's parliamentary group are Aydoan Ali, Vencislav Kaymakanov, Mariana Georgieva, Hyusein Hafazov and Shabanali Durmush. According to the National Assembly's Rules of Organization and Procedure, the six MPs who are leaving the MRF will not be part of any parliamentary groups and can not join any existing ones. They will be assigned different seats.

Lyutvi Mestan was expelled from the MRF during a meeting of the party's Central Council on December 24, 2015. The MRF will now have 30 MPs.
