Business Representatives Demand Reforms from PM Borissov

Sofia, February 16 (BTA) - The business needs reforms in energy, justice, education, healthcare as well as more efforts in the fight against the grey sector, Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) President Kiril Domouschiev told journalists on Tuesday emerging from a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Changes in the security sector are also needed, Domouschiev added.

Attending the meeting were also deputy prime ministers Tomislav Donchev and Roumyana Buchvarova, Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petrova and Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov.

"If the Government takes into consideration our recommendations in a number of areas, we will support it and work together, so that things could improve," the businessman noted. Taking a question, Domouschiev said KRIB does not demand the resignation of Interior Minister Buchvarova. The question has probably been prompted by a January 11 open letter of KRIB to the Interior Ministry demanding fast clearance of the murder of Agressia Fashion House owner Alexander Antov.

Svetoslav Glossov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, said that the participants in the meeting did not discuss the halted procedure for the selection of contractors for the construction of Lots 1 and 2 of the Hemus Motorway. Asked about the Chamber's position on this issue, Glossov replied that the reason for the termination was pointed out by the Prime Minister on Monday and added that "he does not see any drama in all this". The appeal by certain companies does not concern the procedures but the ranking, Glossov said adding that 99 per cent of the public procurement procedures are appealed.
