Ad Hoc Inquiry Committee to Check Claims of Turkish, Russian Interference in Bulgaria's Domestic Policy

Sofia, February 19 (BTA) - Parliament Friday established an ad hoc enquiry committee to investigate all facts and circumstances related to the claims that the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey have interfered in Bulgaria's domestic policy. The decision was adopted with 126 votes in favour, 19 against and 13 abstentions.

On the committee are 16 MPs - two members per parliamentary group, with the exception of the Reformist Bloc which did not nominate representatives. Valentin Radev of GERB will head the committee, which will work for a term of two months.

The range of the committee's activity caused disputes in the plenary chamber but the proposal for its change were rejected by the majority.
