Earthquake Felt in Sofia, Blagoevgrad
Sofia, September 11 (BTA) - An earthquake was felt in Sofia and in the Western city of Blagoevgrad at 4.10 p.m. on Sunday. The National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said that the the earthquake, measuring 4.8 points on the Richter Scale, was epicentred on the territory of Macedonia.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the earthquake measured 5.2 and occurred 6 km east of Skopje at a depth of 4 km.
Macedonian news agency MIA reported that two other tremors were felt in the capital Skopje, measuring 3.9 and 2.8 points on the Richter Scale, earlier in the day.
No casualties or damage to property are reported in Bulgaria.
