Smaller Agcicultural Producers to Get Average Lv 4 Mln for Rural Infrastructure

Sofia, November 2 (BTA) - At the beginning of Wednesday's Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that 78 million leva have been allocated under the Rural Development Programme - an average of 4 million leva for the local action groups of the smallest agricultural producers for rural infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, in Borissov's presence, Agriculture and Food Minister Desislava Taneva handed the first 21 agreements to the local action groups under a submeasure for operations within the framework of strategies for community-led local development under the Programme. The agreements, totalling 78 million leva, will finance investments in municipal infrastructure, development of micro enterprises, tourism, cultural heritage conservation, etc.

"This is an exceedingly good programme. Practically, this is grant aid in support of people and above all of small business," the PM said.
