Vice President Popova Unveils Seventh
Edition of Orpheus in Italy
International Festival

Sofia, September 11 (BTA) - Vice President Margarita Popova
unveiled the seventh edition of the Orpheus in Italy
International Festival of Arts in Lido di Jesolo, Italy. The
festival is organized by the Bulgarian Art Centre Karnolski, the
Italian Association ITACA and the municipality of Jesolo, the
Presidency said Thursday.

Over 300 children from 13 countries will present their talent
onstage. "The message of the festival is support for the young,
but it is also a message of peace, so that there be no poor or
suffering children in the world," Popova said. Both organisers
and participants expressed regret at the absence of traditional
performers from Ukraine because of the military action in their
country. "We owe them solidarity because they have lost the most
valuable thing - peace," The Bulgarian Vice President added.

Bulgaria's Honorary Consul in Veneto, Giorgio De Faveri,
organized a meeting between Popova and local businessmen in
Bolzano, the centre of one of the most prosperous regions in
Italy. The sides discussed opportunities to promote economic
cooperation between the two countries.

Popova and the Bulgarian participants in the festival are
scheduled to meet with the vicar of San Marco in Venice, who
blessed the festival. Later Popova will meet with Bulgarian
professors and students in Venice./SN/BR
