Energy Minister: Wrong Decisions
about Energy Sector Led to
Deficit
Sofia, November 26 (BTA) - The need of fresh finances in the
energy sector and of solving its debt problem were discussed at
the first meeting of the Sectoral Council for Tripartite
Cooperation since the new cabinet took office, the Energy
Ministry said on Wednesday.
Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova said: "The energy sector
will be thoroughly audited so we can start dealing with the
deficit." When the Ministry gets the real picture of the energy
sector, it will immediately implement reforms to deal with the
imbalances.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Energy Minister Anton
Pavlov, representatives of the Federation of the Independent
Trade Unions of Miners with the Confederation of Independent
Trade Unions, the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour, and the
state-owned and private energy companies.
Petkova said the participation of all stakeholders is the best
way to discuss and make decisions about stabilizing the energy
sector. LI/DD
