Grigor Dimitrov Advances to Semi-Finals at Australian Open

Melbourne, Australia, January 25 (BTA) - Grigor Dimitrov reached his first ever Australian Open semi-final after beating David Goffin 6-3 6-2 6-4 in a quarter-final match played on Wednesday.

Bulgaria's best male tennis player of all time will now face the winner of the match between Canadian third seed Milos Raonic and 2009 Australian Open winner and three-time finalist Rafael Nadal of Spain for a place in Sunday's final.

The match at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne lasted 2 hours and 14 minutes. Dimitrov gave a remarkably solid performance, hitting 33 winners and only 25 unforced errors.

Getting to the semi-finals in this grand slam tournament, the 25-year-old Bulgarian climbed to 12th position in the world ranking. At the start of the tournament, he was 15th on the ATP list.
