Specialized Court Overturns Tsenko Chokov's Release from Custody
Sofia, February 24 (BTA) - The specialized court on Thursday overturned Tsenko Chokov's release from custody following day-long deliberations.
The prosecution brought in a witness who testified that he had been pressured by Chokov to change his testimony after Chokov's release.
On February 13, the Appellate Specialized Criminal Court release Chokov from custody on 10,000 leva.
The court's decision is subject to appeal.
Chokov, who is Mayor of the Village of Galiche (near Vratsa, Northwestern Bulgaria), has been charged with leading an organized crime group responsible for kidnappings, loansharking, inflicting bodily harm and arson, was arrested in late May 2016.
