Culture Minister Mladenov Meets with Austrian Counterpart

Vienna, March 6 (BTA) - Caretaker Culture Minister Rashko Mladenov was received by his Austrian counterpart Thomas Drozda on Monday, the Public Relations Department with the Culture Ministry said.

The talks focused on the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU in 2018 and, in particular, on the cultural aspects of its programme.

Mladenov stressed that the country highly commends the development of bilateral cultural cooperation and noted that there are still untapped possibilities for their promotion. The new bilateral agreement and four-year programme, which are to be signed in the near future, are expected to contribute considerably to this process.

In the context of the EU Presidency Trio, consisting of Bulgaria, Estonia and Austria, the interlocutors agreed that the country should assist one another in ensuring cultural space for events, accompanying their presidencies.
