President Radev Confers with Ukrainian Ambassador to Sofia Baltazhy

Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - Bulgaria will continue to support the realization of the European perspective of Ukraine, President Rumen Radev said during a meeting Monday with Ukrainian Ambassador here Mykola Baltazhy, Radev's press secretariat said.

Radev also said that the active bilateral ties should contribute for increasing the economic exchange and deepening the cooperation in energy. Radev was adamant that the crisis in Eastern Ukraine can only be solved with political means and urged for full compliance with the Minsk Agreements by both sides.

Radev said that the ongoing administrative and territorial reform in Odessa region should take into consideration the historical character of the Bolgrad area and preserve its status and current administrative boundaries. The President said that the Bulgarians in Ukraine are a living bridge between the two countries. Radev said he expects that the new education and state language bills in Ukraine will not in any way harm the Bulgarian language learning of the Bulgarian minority there.
