Nearly 5,000 people visited the renovated and modernized Planetarium in Smolyan in March, said its Director Tsvetelina Gencheva on Tuesday. The Planetarium was opened at the end of February and offered one projection, which was viewed by more than 2,200 children and 2,200 adults.

From April 1, a new star projection titled Two Small Pieces of Glass - The Amazing Telescope is also being shown, through which students can learn the history of the telescope from Galileo's modifications to the launch of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. The projection reveals the miracles and discoveries made by astronomers in the last 400 years, Gencheva pointed out.

On the initiative of Smolyan Mayor Nikolay Melemov, the entrance for students from the town is free. "All schools and kindergartens in Smolyan Municipality can attend the star projections on schedule without buying tickets as well," noted Gencheva.
