The Bulgarian Rose Association held its annual meeting at the residence of the Bulgarian Ambassador to Japan on May 31, the diplomatic mission in Tokyo told BTA. The Association's members unveiled initiatives at this yearly gathering, with the objective of bolstering cultural, scientific, and educational ties between the two countries.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Japan was recognized for fostering ties with scholars from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The collaboration centred on a project to study the properties of the Bulgarian oil-bearing rose. The meeting also recognized the Association's collaboration with the Kazanlak-based Institute of Roses and Essential Oils, particularly in relation to exchange programmes between schools in Japan and Bulgaria.

Ambassador Marieta Arabadzhieva thanked the Association for their efforts in promoting Bulgarian roses and rose-derived products in Japan. She conveyed optimism for the continuation and enhancement of initiatives aimed at deepening the cultural, educational, and scientific exchange between the two nations.

During the cocktail reception, guests were treated to food and beverages infused with rose water. The event also featured a display of winning entries from the previous year's Rose Water Recipe Award in Japan.
