Dr Milen Vrabevski and the Bulgarian Memory Foundation made another large donation to the Albanian region of Mala Prespa, where people of Bulgarian origin live, said the foundation on Tuesday.

After a request by the mayor of Pustec Muncipality Pali Kolefski the foundation provided the entire furniture for the offices of the renovated municipality, consisting of 44 desks, 44 cases, 60 chairs, conference tables and 25 computers.

At an official ceremony in front of the building of the municipality, the donation was handed to the mayor of Pustec and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Albania Ivailo Kirov.

The renovation of the municipal building which houses the local fire brigade is near its end. Very soon the furniture will be fitted and the offices will be official unveiled.

Dr Milen Vrabevski and the Bulgarian Memory Foundation have a crucial contribution to the initiation and the organization of the entire process for the recognition of the Bulgarian minority in Albania in 2017, something which the indigenous Bulgarian population in the country has waited for since 1934.

In 2023 again at the initiative of the Bulgarian Memory Foundation, Bulgarian cardiologists arrived in Mala Prespa to give free checkups to the population of nine villages in the region. The team of Prof. Ivo Petrov examined 200 patients, and several months later the foundation donated medical equipment and supplies to the hospital in Pustec.
