A series of sculptures by Georgi Marinov on the theme "The Tower of Babel" will be exhibited at Stubel Art Gallery in Sofia. The exhibition will be open from October 8 to October 26, the event hosts said on Wednesday.

"Georgi Marinov's series of sculptures on The Tower of Babel invites us to follow his ongoing exploration of this timeless theme in art," art critic Aksiniya Dzhurova said.

"In his original interpretations, he thoughtfully places exquisite sculptures on themes like Helmets, Warriors, and Torsos in the gallery's hall. Through these works, the sculptor seeks to remind us of the tragic historical outcome of humanity's attempt to challenge God. The conflict, from which only fragments survive," Dzhurova added.

"Marinov's exhibition challenges those who, comfortable in their own worlds, resist engaging with its message in today's troubled times. It successfully explores and offers a personal take on the timeless themes of human pride, sinfulness, and their consequences," Dzhurova noted.

Georgi Marinov was born in Troyan in 1968. He graduated from the Secondary Specialized School of Applied Arts in his hometown. In 1998, he completed his studies in sculpture at the National Academy of Arts under Boris Gondov. Marinov has held six solo exhibitions.
