A Bulgarian Corner opened in the National Library of Nigeria on Wednesday. The books were donated by the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library and were delivered by the Bulgarian Ambassador in Abuja, Yanko Yordanov, the Bulgarian National Library said. Its Director, Krassimira Alexandrova, participated in the event online.

Alexandrova said that a year ago to the day, a delegation from the National Library of Nigeria arrived in Sofia. The two libraries signed a memorandum of cooperation and Nigeria's National librarian, Prof Chinwe Anunobi, and her colleagues participated in a workshop on the preservation of the literary heritage.

A Nigerian Corner opened at the National Library in Sofia in July 2021. It features books about the culture, history and traditions of Nigeria. The newly opened Bulgarian Corner in Abuja is part of the cooperation between the two national libraries, the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library said.
