Representatives of Taraclia Region, the center of the Bulgarians in Moldova, visited the fifteenth International Folk Costume Festival in the village of Zheravnain (East-Central Bulgaria). This visit was made possible thanks to the initiative of Taraclia Region Chairman Ivan Paslar to establish friendly relations with the Bulgaria and the World Association.

"We gratefully accepted the invitation from the chairwoman of the Association, Vessela Sharankova, because participation in such an event gave us the opportunity to gain positive experience that might come handy when organizing large cultural forums. It is very relevant for us in connection with the preparation of the 21st Diversity and Unity ethnocultural festival in Taraclia Region, which will be held on September 23 this year," head of the Department of Economy and Investment of the Taraclia Region Irina Nikiforova told BTA.

The Zheravna Festival is not only a celebration of the Bulgarian spirit, but it also creates a special mood, brings together like-minded people, creates lasting friendships, awakens the dormant national self-confidence and is a natural bridge between the past and the present. Over the past 15 years, thousands of Bulgarian families have come here with their children to get a feel for that invisible thread that connects modern Bulgarians to their ancestors, the festival's organizers say.

The Zheravna International Folk Costume Festival has been organized since 2008 by Hristo Dimitrov, choreographer and founder of the BULGARE National Folklore Ensemble.
