This parliament is not capable of producing something stable, said Radostin Vasilev, leader of Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party during the consultations with President Rumen Radev, held Thursday before handing over the first cabinet-forming mandate.

"MECh cannot hold talks with [Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan] Peevski and [GERB-UDF Floor Leader Boyko] Borisov", Vasilev added, pointing out that people do not insist on having a regular government at any cost if it is unprincipled. He clarified that they want a government formed by political forces with similar views, "similar understanding of good and evil".

"We are aware that our 12 MPs will not be decisive in such a vote, but we have to show that there are people in the political system who keep their word", Vasilev said, expressing his regret that the country should go through a series of elections, "which will be the catharsis of our society, so that people can see that something can change democratically".

According to him, Bulgaria can adopt a State Budget for 2025 without a regular cabinet.

He added that the Bulgarian society is currently extremely divided, distrustful of institutions and the political class as a whole. "This is due to the shattered hope for change", Vasilev said during the consultations.

In his opinion, there are parties in the current Parliament that have not received the trust of the society to be there. "This Parliament was formed after unprecedented vote-buying, after Bulgarian institutions worked in favour of organized crime. I believe that MECh cannot be part of all this. Our desire, from day one of this Parliament, is to be the voice of the people. People do not feel represented in this Parliament and in Bulgarian institutions", Radostin Vasilev said.
