The great Bulgarian pianist Ludmil Angelov has set a personal record by cutting his third CD in a year. "I am happy to see this long-awaited project completed. I have long wanted to record these Mazurkas. In fact, this is the integral set of the Mazurkas of two less known Polish composers, but the music is really fabulous. The recording is a world premiere," the pianist told BTA.

The composers, Ignaz Friedman and Aleksander Michalowski, had a great understanding of Chopin's works. Poland's National Fryderyk Chopin Institute is the producer of the project, which premieres in Warsaw on August 28 as part of the Chopin and His Europe International Music Festival.

Angelov was born in Varna in 1961. He graduated from the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov State Music Academy in Sofia. He won prizes at the international competitions Frederic Chopin (Poland), Palm Beach (the US), Piano Masters (Monte Carlo) and World Piano Masters Tour (France).

He teaches as Professor Emeritus at New Bulgarian University, where he also gives an annual Masterclass.
