site.btaBolhrad Prepares for 2nd International Amateur Theatre Fest

Preparations have begun in Bolhrad for the second international festival of amateur theatres, Bolhrad Fest 2023, to be held on October 21, 2023. The event is organized by the Bolhrad City Council in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zhanna Suslina, Head of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Bolhrad Municipality, told BTA: "According to the rules, participation can occur both in-person and online, so that more amateur theatre groups can take part. We will have two amateur groups of the Ongal Theatre Studio from Bolhrad, which will participate in Bulgarian and Ukrainian".

Participants are expected mainly from Ukraine, Bulgaria and Moldova. One of the goals of the event is to present the cultural and tourist potential of Bolhrad.

Bolhrad Fest takes place once every two years. The first edition took place in October 2020.
