By order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, a Bulgarian Air Force Spartan aircraft left for the Republic of North Macedonia on Sunday, the Government's press centre said. The plane will transport five people severely injured in the Kocani nightclub fire from Skopje to Bulgarian hospitals.

Bulgarian medical teams made up of resuscitation doctors and burn specialists are travelling in the plane. 

The injured will be accommodated in specialized burn wards in hospitals in Sofia and Varna. 

In addition, the clinical facilities in the hospitals in Sofia, Varna and Blagoevgrad have been urgently put in readiness to receive injured in case of need. Bulgarian hospitals are ready to receive more victims after coordination with the authorities of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Fifty nine people have died in a nightclub fire in North Macedonia. The blaze broke out in the early hours of Sunday in Kocani, a town around 100 km east of the capital, Skopje. Some 1,500 people were said to have been attending a concert. According to local media reports, the fire may have been caused by the use of pyrotechnic devices.

Six ambulances with six medical teams left Bulgaria for North Macedonia, the Emergency Medical Centre - Sofia told BTA.
