Three Bulgarian MEPs join the leadership of the committees of the European Parliament. This is shown by the announcements of the institution following the formation of the new parliamentary committees.
MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk (Renew Europe / MRF) was elected chairman of the EP committee on legal affairs. “It is an honour, this committee has an important role and legislative responsibilities on key issues,” Kyuchyuk was quoted as saying in the announcement. MEP Emil Radev (GERB-UDF/EPP) was elected fourth vice-chair of the same parliamentary committee.
MEP Nikola Minchev (Renew Europe/Continue the Change) was elected second vice-chair of the parliamentary committee on internal market and consumer protection.
Last week the EP voted by a large majority to appoint MEP Andrey Kovatchev as quaestor in the new session of the institution. Quaestors deal with administrative matters that directly affect MEPs themselves and have an advisory vote in the EP Bureau, made up of the president, his 14 deputies and the five quaestors.
