President Radev Confers High Distinction on Finnish Ambassador

President Rumen Radev awarded the Madara Horseman Order First Class to outgoing Finnish Ambassador Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos in recognition of her outstanding services in strengthening bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Finland.

President Rumen Radev said that this high distinction is also an expression of the importance Bulgaria attaches to cooperation with Finland and appreciation for the contribution and sacrifice of the Finnish people to Bulgaria’s national liberation.

With the personal contribution of the Finnish ambassador, Bulgaria joined the European Centre of Excellence and Countering Hybrid Threats at an official ceremony in Helsinki last year, he said.

Ambassador Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos said thanked for the award and said that the years in Bulgaria will be a highlight of her career.
