site.btaFires Still Burning in Ograzhden, Serta Mountains in North Macedonia

Firefighters in North Macedonia worked to extinguish a total of 30 wildfires on Monday. Of these, ten are still active, the Crisis Management Centre said.

Two aircraft of the Protection and Rescue Service, two helicopters of the Interior Ministry and 90 servicemen also took part in the fire suppression efforts.

Among the active fires are those in Ograzhden Mountain, near Novo Selo and Serta, where the forest vegetation is mixed. The fire in Makedonski Brod was put out after helicopters dumped 48 tonnes of water, and 20 fires have been extinguished completely.
