The Council of Ministers has adopted a decision approving the 2025 National Health Insurance Fund Budget Bill, the Government Information Service reported Monday.

Revenues and transfers are projected at BGN 9,474,716,200, up by BGN 1,306,363,100, or 16%, compared to 2024. Health insurance revenues are set at BGN 9,256,409,000, with BGN 5,746,704,300 coming from health insurance contributions and BGN 3,509,704,700 from health insurance transfers.

Health insurance payments are estimated at BGN 8,873,878,900, which represents an increase of BGN 1,242 947,500, or 16.3%, from 2024. 

For 2025, the Health Ministry is projected to make monthly transfers of BGN 191,132,300 for activities not covered by compulsory health insurance. 

The 2025 National Health Insurance Fund Budget Bill was developed in line with the budgetary framework, with the health insurance contribution rate remaining at 8%. The draft budget parameters aim to create a stable financial framework for the continued functioning of the health insurance system, the Government Information Service added.
