Interior Minister Daniel Mitov told a news briefing here on Monday that the Ministry will purchase and deploy unmarked police vehicles to control aggressive drivers who violate the Road Traffic Act.

According to him, the system of imposing penalties should be replaced with the possibility for the police to impose fines on the spot. "It should be done with POS terminals. If there is no possibility for the driver to pay the fine, a system should be devised to remove the vehicle from traffic until the fine is paid. That way some people will learn to bring their bank cards," the Minister said.

He added that the Road Infrastructure Agency, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, and the Interior Ministry should achieve a higher level of coordination allowing for faster task performance. According to him, the toll system cameras and the municipal surveillance systems should be connected to the Interior Ministry's system.
